Carrots from North Africa – Sweetness and freshness from the Mediterranean
Description:
This North African carrot variety is extremely tasty and resistant to both cold and very hot conditions. It is among the favorite varieties around the Mediterranean, but is surprisingly rare in Northern Europe - it is time for that to change! The carrots are a rich orange color, reach a length of 10 cm and grow successfully in both light and heavy soils.
Their taste is exceptional: sweet, juicy and with a dense texture. According to gardeners, these carrots leave a unique aftertaste, reminiscent of the aroma of freshly grated lemon. They grow quickly and are ready for picking after about 60 days. It is important to harvest them on time to avoid hardness.
Sowing method:
- Period: Sow the seeds outdoors from February to July.
- Arrangement: Sow in rows for ease of maintenance and harvesting.
- Spacing: Minimum 20 cm between rows, thin the plants 7 cm apart.
- Harvest: Ready to harvest after about 3 months.
